Meet the Gull Lake Cottagers' Association Board Members!

JUDY INGRAM

PRESIDENT

Judy joined the GLCA Board in 2015, serving as Membership director. Judy was voted in as President at the GLCA Board Meeting held on October 31, 2021, and accepted at the AGM in May of 2022.

Judy was introduced to Gull Lake in 1984, when she met her husband Tom, who had purchased property on the lake. They built their cottage in 1992, and have been enjoying winters and summers on Gull Lake ever since. Retirement has enabled Judy and Tom to spend even more time at the cottage.

BETH ALLISON

SECRETARY

Beth became our Secretary in 2021.

Beth originally came to Gull Lake in the 1980’s to visit the Allison Family, then renting in Miners’ Bay. After marrying Bruce Allison and moving out to Vancouver, Beth and Bruce purchased a cottage on Lackies Lane along with brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and May Allison in 2002. In 2015 Mark and May moved back down to Miners’ Bay and Beth and Bruce assumed full ownership of the Lackies Lane cottage. They now enjoy at least a month every summer there with their daughters and their partners and hope to spend more time as they move toward retirement. As a family, they have participated in the GLCA Regattas and the Highland Yard on a yearly basis.

MIKE THORNE

LAKE STEWARD

Mike took over the role of Lake Steward in 2017.

Mike has been coming to Gull Lake for many years.  The cottage for him is a place to relax, enjoy nature, putter around and eenjoy the company of friends and family.  Mike volunteered for the Lake Plan and assisted our past Lake Steward, Don Drouillard, with water sampling.  It was a natural fit to continue on and help implement the Lake Plan recommendations in the role of Lake Steward.

Lisa joined the Board in 2021 as a Director at Large. At the beginning of 2023, Lisa took over the role of Merchandise.

For many years Lisa's dad shared his memories of Gull Lake and the family cottage on Sandy Bay Road. When the opportunity came up to buy on Gull Lake in 2016, Lisa jumped at the chance. Lisa enjoys all that the lake has to offer: boating, swimming, drinks on the dock and time with family and friends. She can often be seen on her kayak with Kenny the Newf at the helm.

Norma Whitehead

Regatta commodore

Norma joined the Board in 2022 as a Director at Large. Upon hearing that the 100th Regatta, may be our last, Norma quickly stepped up and volunteered to take on the role of Regatta Commodore.

Norma has been coming up to Gull Lake since birth, enjoying summers with her siblings and cousins, 13 all together! Norma is hoping to help the continue the good works of the GLCA, so future generations can make their own wonderful Gull Lake memories.

JANE ROBINSON

Membership ASSISTANT

Jane has been assisting with the Membership Database since 2011.

Jane has been coming to Gull Lake every summer her entire life. In the early 80’s, Jane and her family expanded and bought the year round cottage next door, so they could come up in any season. Jane enjoys the peace, water, and beauty of Haliburton, not to mention the sociability of those on the road. There’s nothing like floating down the river.
